Ages 5-13

We love to pierce kids of all ages, but it's important that it is something they want, which is why we prefer to pierce children at least age 5 and up. That way, it can be something they choose to do themselves. It also helps to ensure there is sufficient enough area to pierce so it lasts a lifetime!

Being old enough to make the choice to have ears pierced can also work as a teaching moment to instill responsibility. Your child can learn to be responsible for taking care of their own piercing!

PIERCING FAQs

Do I need an appointment to get pierced?

An appointment is the BEST way to ensure you get the piercing you want, when you want it. Please click the "Book Now" button to see available times and set one up. BE SURE TO BE ON TIME! The schedule is very tight and you may get rescheduled if you show up late.

Do you pierce minors?

Yes. Please refer to our "Rules for Minors" before setting up an appointment. There is also a list of minimum age requirements for certain piercing types in this section. A parent or legal guardian MUST be present during the entire procedure. You MUST have all applicable ID/legal paperwork with you at the time of your appointment or you will be turned away. This is the law so we cannot make any exceptions.

How do I prepare for my piercing appointment?

You should eat at least 2 hours before getting pierced. It is important to be hydrated as well. Also be sure that you are clean and wear the right clothes to be pierced in if it is a body piercing. For Ex. Hair up for ears, No make-up for facial piercings etc.

Can I bring my friends?

You may be allowed 1 or sometimes 2 guests but this is at the piercers discretion. If it gets too crowded in the shop, they may be asked to wait outside. Your piercing appointment should not take more than 20 minutes.

Do you do any other piercings than those listed on the website?

We do, but not everything you may see on the internet. Also, some piercings may not be right for your anatomy, so please discuss this with your piercer and be prepared to have a secondary location in mind just in case your first idea may not work out for your body type.

What kind of jewelry can I get pierced with?

316L steel is the most basic metal used in body jewelry. It is the basic requirement of metal to be used in initial piercings and for healing. 316LVM ASTM F-138 Implant Grade Steel This is a higher grade of Steel. ASTM F-136 Titanium is a hypoallergenic metal usually preferred over steel because it contains no nickel and it weighs almost 50% less than steel. Titanium can come in plain polish which looks just like steel AND it can be anodozed in a variety of colors (but NOT red or black). Niobium is an elemental metal (not man made) and is slightly heavier than 316L stainless steel. Gold only 14k or 18k gold is appropriate for body jewelry (24k gold is too soft).Lower grades than 14k could result in migration, rejection and/or irritation.

Can I come to you for jewelry changes?

Yes! We offer a large variety of jewlery. We can also help you change to jewelry you already own as well. You can schedule an appointment by clicking the "Book Now" button and pick a time that works best for you.

Which aftercare should I use?

We rely on our expierence and knowledge to offer our clients what we believe to be the best aftercare products. We have several products we recommend and will offer to you during your appointment. It is imperative that you use the correct product(s) for your piercing if you want it to heal properly. Many products used in the past have been proven to cause harm or be ineffective. By following our instructions and using our aftercare as directed, you should have no issues with your new piercing. Refrain from getting information from outside sources such as friends or random websites on the internet.

What is downsizing and when should I do it?

So, what exactly is downsizing? It's the process of shortening jewelry from initial piercing length to more properly fitted jewelry. Initial piercing jewelry is usually longer than what is needed to accomidate for any swelling and ease of cleaning. Downsizing is recommended between 2 – 8 weeks after the initial piercing. Your piercing IS NOT healed at this point.

What can happen if I don't downsize my jewelry?

Leaving jewlery that is too long in a healing piercing can cause multiple issues that can damage the piercing and vastly extend the healing process. Incorrect length jewelry can cause the jewelry to heal at a tilt, cause bumps, irritation, migration or rejection. Some of these can force the piercing to be retired.

Can I be pierced with my own jewelry?

Absolutley not! Your jewelry isn't sterile and we do not know what is the material composition of the metal. Everything we do includes basic jewelry with upgrades in jewelry available.

What are some No-No's for my new piercing?

While it is important to keep the piercing wound clean, don’t use any harsh products to clean the wound. Products like Rubbing Alcohol, Betadine, Neosporin, Hibiclens and Peroxide are all too harsh for fresh piercing wounds. They will cause more harm than good. Fresh piercings should not be submerged in water. Soaking your fresh piercings in water exposes them to a lot of bacteria. Therefore, no swimming! Your piercer will advise on how long you should wait. Don’t fiddle with your piercings at all. This can introduce bacteria to the site and will also cause irritation which can prolong the healing process. Therefore, let the piercing be and don’t keep touching it over and over again. Don’t take the jewelry out until the piercing site has completely healed. Get your jewelry changed for the first time by a professional only. Don’t wear tight clothing around the area of the piercing (e.g. naval). It can irritate the skin and can prolong the healing process. Your body may also reject the piercing. Don’t sleep on the piercing until it is fully healed. It can put a lot of pressure on the new wound and can prolong the healing process. It will also be very painful.

Are there any piercings you will NOT do?

Yes, there are several. Currently, we do not perform genital piercings. Mostly because they aren't that commonly asked for anymore, so we don't want to offer something we are out of practice doing. Also, many people do no prepare correctly for them and make it difficult, so it's not usually worth it for us to offer them. Please be sure to research any place that does offer them before you get one. You want to be sure they are experts at it specifically.

We also do not do several oral piercing for mostly the same reasons. Snake eye/Venom (tip of the tongue) and smiley piercings will potentially take the enamel from your teeth which will never recover and can cause tooth rot. Tip of the tongue piercings can potentially cause permanent damage to your teeth as well as greatly affect your speech because you are piercing 2 muscles together that you use to annunciate.
We will not do any piercings that can cause permanent unhealthy affects to your body and we recommend that you do not get these from other shops either. Most places will not tell you the effects they may cause.
